nonmetallic gases

Gases, that is, any elements in the gaseous state at room temperature, include the elements hydrogen, helium, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine, chlorine, neon, argon, krypton, xenon and radon. Oxygen and nitrogen are diatomic gases. Hydrogen is a gas in its free state on Earth, but sufficient pressure (such as that found a quarter of the way into the planet Jupiter) converts hydrogen onto liquid or solid metallic hydrogen.
